A new program is now generally available in v2.20 that tests the limits of the bot farm that is in place for the playback. This program should be run prior to starting the playback. The fundamental output of the program is for you to understand how many SAP GUI logins and sessions can be supported by each of the bots that will take part in the playback.

As mentioned in the previous section (User distribution algorithm), the SAP GUI sessions that must be played back, will be much more evenly distributed amongst the bot farm than in previous versions of Testimony. This means that each bot will (generally) have the same number of SAP GUI sessions.

The reason that both the algorithm was changed and that this program was created, was in the past versions there was instability in the bot farm when too many SAP GUI sessions were opened. It is generally understood that the maximum SAP GUI session limit is approximately 100. However, this will vary dependent upon the Windows Operating System version and the amount of RAM in the bot machine.

Hence, it is best that this program is executed prior to the playback. Since this program is in ramp-up mode, it is currently not integrated into the UI of Testimony.

The program name is /BTI/AUT_BOT_SIMULATION and it should be executed upon the central system. The bots should have been started prior to triggering the program. Here is the selection screen of the program when first executed:
