The purpose of the billing out-sort tolerance optimization report is to analyze all billing out-sorts in the system and determine how far above or below the existing tolerances they are. It is useful from a “What if” analysis perspective, in the sense that if a Utility would like to understand what impact a change in the billing out-sort tolerances would have. For example, if tolerances were to be widened by $20, how many billing out-sorts would now be able to be released? As an additional usage of this report, if you were to then change the configuration in Billing to widen the tolerance and transport this into production, you can use this program to then automatically release those billing out-sorts that are now within the newly set tolerances.
