Release Orchestration

ActiveControl Orchestration provides a seamless and automated approach to Cross System Dependencies and Manual Step scenarios.

In earlier versions of ActiveControl, a System Error would have been generated in the event of an unmet dependency or incomplete pre-import Manual Step when that Transport reached the Import Queue and an automated import ran. This resulted in Basis Team or Administrators having to get involved, which resulted in delays as well as a rather inefficient manual intervention.

With Orchestration, a Transport will sit in ‘Pending Import’ status where there is an unmet transport dependency or incomplete pre-import Manual Step. As soon as the pre-requisite transport is imported, or the Manual Step is completed, then the pending transport will be automatically imported. This happens immediately, not when the next scheduled import runs.

Configuration Steps

Orchestration is switched on via the ‘Orchestrated’ option on the [Import Options] tab of a Target. Basis Technologies would generally recommend switching it on for all configured Targets.
