ActiveControl includes an out-of-the-box Integration Framework which enables bi-directional integration capabilities with many ITSM products including JIRA, ServiceNow and HPSM and also more recently with DevOps lifecycle tools such as Gitlab.

During 2019 and early 2020, this Integration capability has been extended to include an integration with Jenkins, another third-party DevOps product used increasingly within IT organisations to automate aspects of software development building, testing and deployment.

To date, the Jenkins integration has been used to fulfil two different objectives as part of an ActiveControl workflow:

1. To trigger automated testing within tools such as Selenium and Tosca.

2. As part of an integration with ABAPGit, to support branched SAP development.

The Jenkins integration to trigger automated testing is documented in this separate Jenkins Integration Guide.

This Integration Guide document details the functional background and high-level solution for the Jenkins integration with abaGIT to support branched SAP development.
