Create a New Analysis

Step 1 – Landscape and Name

From the main screen, navigate to the Analysis Runs page and click on “Create New Analysis Run”

Steps in the setup are dynamically shown, after the current step is completed and validated.

  1. Choose the System Landscape
  2. Assign a name to the Analysis, and press Enter

Step 2 – Components

You can select the components you wish to run the analysis against. By default, some might be less relevant to you and you might wish to deselect them, perhaps to save time in the analysis generation.

The Usage Data Analytics and related metrics are dependend on the ST03 Data being activated.
For more information about setting up ST03, you can refer to SAP documentation.

Step 3 – Analysis Source

You can select a variety of sources on which to base your analysis.
SAP Transports, Specific SAP Objects, and other sources will be added in due course.

SAP Transport(s)
Enter transport number(s) which exists in the Source system, and contains objects which you wish to perform impact and scope analysis against your Reference system. The selection screen allows you to look for transports based on filters and search criteria.

SAP Object(s)
Enter SAP Object(s) which exists in the Source system that you need to be compared against the Reference system.
When selecting a SAP Object, there are a multitude of object types that can be analysed:

In this example, entering a transaction code in the Object Name (1) and pressing Go (2) lists all objects that are associated with this Transaction Code and can be analysed.
Choose the Object Type = TRAN to analyse transaction SM50. Once confirmed, press Select to exit.

Select “Start Analysis Immediately”.

The analysis starts and can be monitored here:

Completed Analysis Runs can be seen here:
