Security and System Access

The BDEx software resides on premise, within the customer’s SAP landscape. The BDEx software is installed via SAP transports using objects contained within custom namespaces registered to Basis Technologies. These transports are imported into the development system. Once installed configurations and enhancements are added in accordance to the business requirements obtained during the blueprinting phase of the project. The code and configuration is deployed using the transport paths and following the and release process.

BDEx leverages the existing SAP authorizations and SAP provided security mechanisms. Authorization checks are completed for each transaction accessed via BDEx to ensure the current authorizations are obeyed. The products are all accessed via transaction codes following SAP best practice to ensure only the appropriate users are given access. Where applicable, BDEx uses SAP Authorization Objects to be seamlessly incorporated, into the SAP Security Roles.
