Internal software automation

Another item for more internal purposes at Basis Technologies is automated software delivery of new releases and cumulative patches of Testimony.

We now have additional automated processes for checking that the software we release to csutomers is consistent, robust and reliable. As a simple example, prior to releasing 2.70 and 2.71, we check numerous aspects of the software in an automated way to ensure various aspects of it. This was done manually in the past but now this process is automated.

As some examples of checks we now automatically perform:

• Ensure software does not contain objects that could over-write customer objects
• Ensure software has no missing configuration shipped in the new version
• Ensure software has separate transports for security related objects
• Ensure software is fully translated into other languages (e.g. German)

We have over 12 automated checks like those above and additional ones will be added over the coming releases in order for us to automate the software delivery process and get more releases out to customers faster, but without compromising quality and security.

!Please note that these software checks are now automatically run for both new version releases (e.g. 2.70 / 2.71) but also for all cumulative patches that are shipped on current and previous releases.
