Whilst this is not directly related to customers, SLG is the tool that Basis Technologies uses internally to regression test the Testimony release. SLG stands for Synthetic Load Generator and we use it to generate transactional load upon SAP systems since we do not have a real “production” system like customers do. It provides both high volume and breadth of testing across all supported object types within Testimony (e.g. SAP GUI dialog transactions, inbound RFC, batch jobs etc).
Since introduction of Fiori into the solution, there was a need to put Fiori app load in order for us to repeatably test new Fiori app recording functionality along with ensuring high volume recording was also handled sufficiently. This item is about the introduction of this new functionality into SLG so that internal automated testing is possible.
The technical solution is not to be discussed in this forum, but suffice to say that we use our own Bot technology (that is traditionally used for playbacks) for use by SLG during our recording. The SLG bots are able to put Fiori app load (via the Fiori launchpad or directly) across various Fiori apps as well as using various devices (e.g. PC browsers, smart phones and tablets).
