Control Point Labelling

Over the years, numerous new ActiveControl customers have asked if it was possible to rename the standard control points from the standard ActiveControl terminology of Inbox, Test Queue and Outbox, to terminology that instead reflected their own process steps. For example:

• Development Test Queue might instead be called “Unit Testing”
• QA Outbox might instead be called “UAT Review”
• Production Inbox might instead be called “CAB Approval”

ActiveControl Web Platform 9.00 introduces this capability via the new Labels configuration option within the Targets tile. Via this new optional configuration, Administrators can define the wording that will seen by Users in all areas of the product where Location information is seen. If a Label is configured, this will be seen, otherwise the standard SID – Description – Control Point location will be seen by default.

! The Target Tile has been delivered within ActiveControl 9.00 purely to facilitate Control Point Labelling, because Basis Technologies wanted to ensure that any configured Labels are factored into the screens where Labels would need to be seen. As such, Labels should be configured via the Web Platform [Targets] tile as part of ActiveControl 9.00, but the Windows GUI should continue to be used for all other configuration as part of this particular ActiveControl release.
