Transport of Copies

Around 30% of ActiveControl customers use Transport of Copies (TOCs) as part of their Dev > QA testing processes. In most cases, the creation of TOCs is automated via the pre-existing ActiveControl configuration in /BTI/TE_VAUTOCON that has been available since ActiveControl 8.40 – however there are some scenarios/processes where a user needs to be able to manually create a TOC via ActiveControl.

The manual creation of TOCs can be done via two places as part of ActiveControl Web Platform 9.00.

1. Transport Form – [Transport Request Details] screen
2. Business Task – [Transports] screen

In both cases, it is possible to create either ‘Full’ or ‘Delta’ TOCs. The next release of the Web Platform will add the capability to add ‘SAP Taskspecific’ and ‘Production’ TOCs. For ActiveControl 9.00, those types of TOCs will continue to only be possible in the Windows GUI.

* Note that for customers who do not use Transport of Copies as part of their development/testing processes – removing CREATETOCFULL and/or CREATETOCDELTA authorisation activities from the ActiveControl roles (by creating Z roles) will result in the Transport of Copies options not being seen at all in the Web Platform.
