ActiveControl offers a Dual Domain Controller (DDC) setup for customers that want to manage different SAP landscapes in different ActiveControl Domain Controllers.

This can be useful for a couple of different scenarios:

1. Where the customer has multiple SI partners that are responsible for different SAP landscapes, and they want to be able to manage the AC Administration themselves.

2a. Cloud migrations where the customer has multiple SAP systems with the same system IDs for a limited time period (eg where legacy On-premise and replacement Cloud systems have same SIDs).
2b. S/4HANA migrations where customer has multiple SAP systems with the same system IDs.

Althogh DDC was originally developed in 2014 because of scenario 1, the reality is that it has been implemented more often by customers because of Scenario 2a. Scenario 2 requires the DDC solution because it is not currently possible to manage two systems of the same SID within the same ActiveControl Domain Controller.
