ActiveControl is an ABAP Add-On. The software comes in the format of some SAP transports that need to be deployed into the intended ActiveControl Domain Controller system, and the satellite SAP systems to be managed by ActiveControl.
Basis Technolologies will provide the required transports as part of your original implementation of ActiveControl along with instructions of where each transport needs to be deployed. The same will happen if any Cumulative Patch fixes need to be applied, and also when you decide to upgrade to a newer version of ActiveControl.
Installing the ActiveControl Software Transports
The following steps summarise the activities involved in installing the ActiveControl software.
The steps assume the system ID of your development SAP system is DEV, and also that the reader is already comfortable with the basics of the SAP Correction and Transport System.

| 1. | Copy the transport file K9nnnnn.SID to the cofiles transport directory. As with the following transport files, make sure that the file is copied in binary mode and for UNIX systems ensure that the target filename is in uppercase and is not read-only. |
| 2. | Copy the transport file R9nnnnn.SID to the data transport directory. |
| 3. | Add the transport to the import buffer of the SAP system that you have selected to be the ActiveControl domain controller. tp addtobuffer SIDK9nnnnn DEV |
| 4. | Import the transport into the ActiveControl domain controller SAP system (note the use of unconditional modes 1 and 8). tp import SIDK9nnnnn DEV client=000 U18 |
| 5. | Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the other participating SAP systems in your system landscape. |
Removing the Service Software
SAP does not provide a simple method for removing the contents of a transport from a system. To mitigate this, Basis Technologies can provide you with a deletion transport to remove the contents of ActiveControl from your SAP systems in the unlikely event that you no longer want to use the product. This deletion transport has been created using ActiveControl’s innovative backup capability, a powerful feature described in a later section of this Administration Guide. Please contact the Basis Technologies support team if you require a backup transport to remove ActiveControl from your SAP systems.
