Customers upgrading from earlier versions of ActiveControl will clearly see a lot of changes in the Web Platform versus the legacy WebUI.

These changes to the UI are a combination of the visually different UI5-based screens, but also new Features that have been added as part of the Web Platform project, mostly as a result of either Customer feedback over the years or internal Basis Technologies product innovation.

The table below summarises some of the new features (and requirements), for the benefit of existing Basis Technologies Administrators:

Topic Details
Docker Image New server requirement for the installation of the ActiveControl Web Platform. More information can be found in Installing Web Platform .
Mobile Access Please refer to Mobile Access section of this Administration Guide.
Feature Deactivation Please refer to Feature Deactivation section of this Administration Guide.
Control Point Labelling Please refer to Control Point Labelling section of this Administration Guide.
Accessibility Please refer to Accessibility in the Web Platform section of this Administration Guide.
RAG statuses New RAG statuses for Dormant Transports and Aged Transports have been added, to give more visibility of stagnating transports within ActiveControl. Please refer to seperate Aged and Dormant Knowledge Articles for further information.
Business Task – Progress Diagram Optional capability will provide a count of the Transport Forms associated with the Business Task, based on their location in the path and a mapping between the associated Deployment Status and the underlying Project Milestones. Please refer to BT Process Diagrame Knowledge Article for further information. A similar progress diagram is also seen at ActiveControl Project level.
Task Owner versus Testers Business Task Owner (ie the user that creates the Business Task) is now an entirely different concept to the “Default” All Systems Tester on a Business Task. As such it can be a different user for these different concepts.
Increased data validation In newer versions of the ActiveControl UI – particularly since AC9.30 – additional target data validation is being done versus older versions of the UI. As a result, clean-up program /BTI/TE_RFIX_TARGET_DATA might need to be run as a one-off activity if seeing “Invalid Data” errors. Please refer to this Knowledge Article for further details.
